How do I use the Chiboji nasal aspirator?
To use the nasal aspirator, you simply have to place the end of the nozzle (silicone tup facing upward) to your child's nostril and gently pull the handle of the pump.
You can adjust the suction power depending on how far you pull the handle. For maximum suction power, you pull the handle all the way. To reduce the force, you can pull halfway or 1/3 of the way. You can test the suction on the back of your hand to make sure that the proper suction power is being used.
After use, you only have to wash the nozzle bottle with soapy water. You don't have to wash the pump or the silicone tube unless necessary. Please see our cleaning guide for more instructions.

How do I clean my Chiboji nasal aspirator?
After using the Chiboji nasal aspirator, you don't have to clean the whole product unless mucus has gone into the silicone tube or the piston pump. You only have to clean the nozzle where the snot goes into and where it touches your baby.
To clean the nozzle, you simply have to detach it from the silicone tube and wash it in soapy water. Once the nozzle is dry, you can reattach it back to tube and you can use the aspirator again.
After multiple uses of the aspirator, you can also clean the tube and the pump.
For the silicone tube, you can sterilize, boil, or wash it with soapy water.
For the pump, you cannot boil or sterilize it. Please use a plant-based cleaner soap to wash the pump. If your pump becomes hard to pull, please reapply lubricating oil (olive oil or any other edible oils) by placing some oil onto a piece of tissue or paper towel and wipe the inside surface of the pump with it. Make sure the old oil is removed before reapplying new oil.
Please refer to this video for a better understanding of how to clean the Chiboji pump:
Can I disinfect my Chiboji nasal aspirator?
The nasal aspirator is not resistant to high temperatures, so please refrain from sterilizing them via boiling or UV and steam sterilizers. Only the silicone tube may be sterilized.
The Chiboji nasal aspirator can be disassembled for cleaning. Please refer to our cleaning guide for more instructions.
Other parts can be disinfeted with alcohol as well except for the blue ring on the pump so please remove that first before you disinfect the pump. You can clean the blue ring with a gentle washing liquid.
My Chiboji doesn't have enough suction power/My Chiboji is difficult to pull. Why?
There may be two reasons for the suction not working.
1. Baby's nasal cavity is injured or blocked. If baby's nasal cavity is injured, please reduce the force of the nasal aspirator or do not use it. If the passageway is blocked, you can try to use steam first to soften the nasal mucus by using a steam machine or washing the face with warm water before using the nasal aspirator.
2. You need to relubricate your pump. Please see relubricating guide for more information.
3. The valve on the pump is missing. Check the bottom of the pump (the surface with an elephant) and see if the valve is covered with a silicone cover. If not, then that is the reason why there is no suction power. This cover does not need to be removed when cleaning so keep it on there since it might get lost if you remove it.
Take care to not put oil onto the valve as well since this might cause the cover to get stuck on the valve and it won't open and close normally. Should this happen, you can simply use toilet paper dipped in alcohol and wipe the cover by slightly opening the cover. (No need to remove the cover.)
How do I relubricate my nasal aspirator?
Wipe the inside surface of the pump first to make sure that the old oil is removed before replacing new oil. When there is no more oil on the inside of the pump, place some oil onto a piece of tissue or paper towel and wipe the inside surface of the pump with it. Make sure not to put too much since the oil might make a mess.
Please note:
Avoid mixing old and new oils
When lubricating the nasal aspirator, please clean the nasal aspirator to avoid old lubricant residues. If old and new oils are mixed, the parts of the nasal aspirator may be easily damaged.
Be careful to use the wrong oil
When lubricating the nasal aspirator, please use edible oil (sunflower oil and salad oil are recommended). Never use other oils such as petroleum jelly, baby oil, sewing machine oil, etc., as their chemical composition may easily cause blue glue.
Can I control suction power?
Yes! You can adjust the suction power depending on how far you pull the handle.
For maximum suction power, you pull the handle all the way. To reduce the force, you can pull halfway or 1/3 of the way. You can test the suction on the back of your hand to make sure that the proper suction power is being used.
What should I do if the nasal aspirator won't spring back after being pulled?
The common cause for this problem usually arises after the piston pump is cleaned. Please make sure that the blue ring attached to the pump is installed correctly. If the pump is not bouncing back, just reinstall the blue ring the other way.
The blue ring has two sides, a concaved side and a convex side. The concaved side should be facing the handle while the conves side should be facing the piston barrel and the tube opening. Please see simple diagram below with [ being the blue ring:

I cannot suck out thick nasal mucus.
Before using the Chiboji nasal aspirator, you can try the following steps to help loosen the mucus stuck inside your baby's nose:
📍The steam method
You can use a steam machine or turn the hot water faucet in the bathroom to maximum and let your child breath in the steam.
Hot water will generate a large amount of water vapor, allowing the baby to take deep breaths, causing the water vapor to be inhaled into the nasal cavity to soften the sticky mucus. Please make sure that the steam is not too hot or that the baby is not too close to the hot water to prevent burns.
📍Hot compress method
Use a hot towel to apply hot compress onto the nose of the child/ The heat generated can promote blood circulation in the nasal cavity and reduce congestion and swelling of the nasal mucosa. To avoid burns, please take care to make sure the towel is not too hot.
📍Saline spray method
You can also use a saline spray to quickly decongest the nasal cavity of the baby.
Why does snot keep on going into the silicone tube?
To prevent snot from going into the silicone tube, please hold the nozzle with the tube facing upwards. You also have to pour out the sucked out mucus when the mucus almost reaches the tube opening. Please see photo below for a guide:
